- Kerrfest – Since 2014, the locals of the Kerr Village at Oakville, Ontario celebrated an annual outdoor music festival, which they called “Kerrfest”. It is celebrated every first weekend of September after Labor Day. It used to be a small gathering at the beginning, until it attracted people from the nearby areas. Today, this 3-day music festival is participated by thousands of people. - Oakville Community Walk (Light the Night) – Light the Night is a fundraising event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC), which aims to support ongoing blood cancer research. Yearly, participants from 12 cities across Canada walk together to show support and give hope to blood cancer patients and their families. There are also many volunteer-led walks, including the Oakville Community Walk, participated by more than 20, 000 people. The Oakville Community Walk will be held on October 19, 2019 at Bronte Heritage Park Gazebo, 2340 Ontario St. Oakville, Ontario.
- Santa Claus Parade – Christmas, the most awaited season by everyone, is early felt in Oakville and other nearby towns because of the Santa Claus Parade. To be held on November 16, 2019, beginning at Downtown Oakville at Lakeshore Road East and Reynolds Avenue. The theme for this year is “Things we do at Christmas time”. Some participate in the parade by joining a float, or joining a marching group. The said event also gives back to the people, as they collect goods and used toys during the parade for the annual food and toy drive.
- Annual Vegan Food Fair – If you are into healthy living, you might be interested in joining the Annual Vegan Food Fair. It aims to encourage and educate the community to make healthy food choices and healthy lifestyle through various activities held at the event. They organize informative and entertaining talks, food sampling and selling of locally-grown fruits and vegetables and other products, as well as food and health demonstrations. It is a family-friendly event hosted and sponsored by the Bronte Seventh-day Adventist Church. The fair will be held on September 22, 2019. - Culture Days – This year, Culture Days in Oakville is bigger and longer. To be celebrated on September 27 to 29, 2019 – this 3-day event will surely be participated by thousands of people. It aims to understand and educate its people about various cultures, as Canada has been home to people from different races. Some of the activities you can participate includes visiting art galleries and other exhibits like Trias Gallery, African Culture Through Art, and Dick Sanders Painting Exhibit; learn Salsa, knitting, soap and candle making, and a lot more. Most of the activities will be held in Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre at 2302 Bridge Road, Oakville, Ontario, but other exhibits will be put up in various locations.
